ALPHA WARNING! This database has not been properly tested and may contain bugs. Please send bug reports to spaceengine@geocities.com so we can quickly get them fixed! Scripts are included for TinyMUX and PennMUSH. The database that they create should work with the version of the Portable Space Engine that corresponds to the version number of this package. Installation steps: - Make a copy of your MU* game files before installing the sample database script or, better yet, set up a clean MU* directory. The database cannot be installed on top of your existing game. - If you are running PennMUSH, comment out the lines: "room_flags no_command", "player_flags no_command", and "thing_flags no_command" by putting a # in front of them. - Start up with the minimal database. With PennMUSH a minimal database is created if one isn't already present. With TinyMUX you have to create one with the -s switch to netmux. - Log in as the root character. With TinyMUX this is Wizard, password: potrzebie. With PennMUSH, the root character is One with a blank password. - Create a Space wizard character with the SPACE flag set by entering the following commands: @pcreate Space=space @set *Space=WIZARD @set *Space=SPACE - Log in as the space character. - Run the appropriate installation script (for TinyMUX: mux.script, for PennMUSH: penn.script). With TinyFugue this can be done with something like: /quote 'mux.script. - Shutdown the MU*, and edit the game's .conf file (or mush.cnf with Penn). Change the master_room parameter to 41. If you're running TinyMUX, add the option: "space_debug_char 40" to set the space debug character. With Penn, this option is currently fixed at 0 (the One character). - If you're running TinyMUX, run the 'channel.script' script to set up the space debug character and Space channel. This will cause the debug character to forward space debug messages to that channel. If you're running Penn, at present you'll have to log in as One to view the debug messages, or view the MUSH log. - The database should now be installed and ready to go.
